Once search requests have been sent via Google, surfers have the choice between multitudes of sites all offering similar information. To achieve a good ranking in the research results, the content of an internet website should follow the four following rules. It should:
Your website can be both functional and aesthetic, but if it is not properly referenced the audience will be limited.
This is why it's important to properly understand how Google works, as it is
the most widely used search engine on the internet:
'Content, structure and popularity': these are the variables underpinning the algorithms used by Google for deciding how your website is to be ranked. Ideally the content (text and pictures) and the structure (source code) should correspond to the keywords most frequently used by surfers on the internet when seeking your services. In the same way, the more your website is connected with others on the web, the more popular it will be. So it's worthwhile to build a network for your activities or to add sections so as to attract more visitors.
Which keywords are being punched into the search engines?
Are the descriptions of the pages on your website correct?
Is your domain name appropriate?
To optimize your website referencing, we jointly agree on a ranking objective and advise you on two keywords that are likely to be used for Google searches. The more popular these words are, the harder it is to improve the ranking.
Without going into detail, we check whether the source code of the website corresponds to the
Googlebot norms. Googlebot is the robot
used by Google for listing all pages on the web.
As your pages are not all equally important, we also draw up a
Sitemap, i.e. a plan of your website which optimizes
and sets priorities for the pages to be indexed.
Since it was not referenced on the first ten pages of Google Switzerland, we got the 'Manège de Machefer' on the first page with the keywords 'manège' and 'Genève', the most logical keywords for somebody searching for a 'manège' (riding stables) in Geneva.
The meditation centre 'Esprit d'entente' was also not on the first ten pages of Google Switzerland, but reached the first page using the keywords 'méditation' and 'Genève', which are the words most often used when looking for a meditation centre in Geneva.
If the ranking objective is not reached, then we only bill 50% of our work, despite the fact that the progress achieved is usually spectacular!
The more your website is connected with others on the web, the more popular it will be:
